Aloha! You are being asked to participate in a multi-site research study conducted by The University of Hawaii at Manoa and Temple University.
The purpose of this study is to learn more about how to better manage health living associated with HIV. Our hope is that information from this study will help in creating effective prevention programs.
You are eligible if you are:
• Age 18 or above
• Self-identify as biological male
• Self-report having had sex with men
• A verifiable HIV-positive status
If you decide to participate, we will ask you to complete a self-administered online survey or complete a phone survey with one of our research staff. Research staff will be available by phone to answer any questions you may have. You will be asked to provide sensitive information including sexual behavior, sexual identity, other health behaviors, CD4 count, and viral load. If there are any questions that you do not want to answer, you may skip them.
At a later date, when social distancing is no longer required, you may be asked to complete the in-clinic portion of this study. At this in-person visit, we will do a physical assessment and assess your blood pressure.
You will be compensated $50 for participating in the online survey. Research staff will follow up to provide compensation. At a later date, you may be eligible for additional compensation for the in-clinic portion.
